- Using an ordinary truck with ice blocks for long trips. It may work for an hour across town; it rarely works interstate.

- Overpacking the box so cold air cannot circulate.
- Leaving goods on a hot loading bay while paperwork is sorted.
- Mixing products that need different temperatures in one compartment.
