Safety at Travo

Safety isn't a page. It's the product.

Verified people, evidence on every job, payments that release on proof — and because impersonators are the newest threat in Nigerian logistics, a way to confirm you're really talking to us.

Anatomy of a safe job

What "safe" looks like, step by step

Trust shouldn't require faith. A Travo job produces its own paper trail — so if anything is ever disputed, the evidence already exists.

1

Price agreed first

Quote confirmed before any vehicle moves — no roadside renegotiation.

2

Identified handler

You know the rider or driver on your job, and they're verified with us.

3

Pickup evidence

Photos and counts at collection, timestamped — sealed where it matters.

4

Tracked movement

Status updates through transit; long hauls carry waybills for your records.

5

Proof at handover

Delivery photo, recipient confirmation or PIN — then, and only then, payment releases on SecurePay jobs.

Both sides of the handlebars

Safe for the people doing the work, too

Customer safety and worker safety aren't separate programmes — they're the same one. A rider who is equipped, insured and fairly paid protects your parcel better than any slogan.

  • Safety kit standards for riders and drivers on the network
  • Agreed pricing protects partners from roadside disputes too
  • SecurePay means honest providers can't be cheated out of finished work
  • Training pathway: the Travo Driver Academy raises the floor for HDV skills

Why this is a safety feature, not charity

Across Nigerian logistics, the incidents customers fear most — tampered parcels, vanished goods, abandoned jobs — correlate with underpaid, unequipped, anonymous workers with nothing to lose.

Travo's model inverts that: verified identity, fair agreed pay, evidence that protects the honest worker as much as the customer, and a training academy that turns driving into a career worth protecting. The person carrying your goods has a stake in doing it right.

Safety tips worth forwarding

How to spot a logistics scam before it costs you
The pattern is consistent: pressure to pay fast, into a personal account, off any official channel. Real companies quote in writing, receive into corporate accounts, and don't mind you taking an hour to verify. If a "Travo agent" pushes urgency, check the number against our official list first — the sixty seconds it takes has saved people millions.
Sending something valuable? Do these three things
Photograph it packed, request a delivery PIN so only your recipient can receive it, and for high values use SecurePay so payment only moves when proof exists. Declared value also determines insurance — declare honestly.
Buying from a seller you've never met
Never prepay a stranger directly — that's the single biggest source of online-purchase losses in Nigeria. Route it through SecurePay: you fund Travo, we collect and photograph the goods, you approve what you see, then the seller is paid. If a seller refuses escrow, that's your answer about the seller.
Receiving a delivery safely
Check the rider matches the job details, inspect seals before signing or releasing a PIN, and note anything unusual on the spot — evidence raised at handover is worth ten complaints raised the next day. For contactless delivery, just say so at booking.
Hiring a truck or movers without getting burned
Agree the price, route and load in writing before loading; insist on a waybill; and structure payment so the balance releases on delivery — milestone escrow exists for exactly this. On moving jobs, our video survey fixes the price before the crew arrives, which removes the classic day-of price ambush.
If something goes wrong

Report it — we resolve from evidence

Every report is reviewed against the job's record: photos, timestamps, confirmations. SecurePay disputes freeze funds until resolved.
