- Distance and route. Intercity moves are priced per trip and include fuel for the return leg. NNPC petrol ranged from ₦1,385 (Lagos) to ₦1,456 (Yobe) per litre on 24 September 2026, and diesel trucks have their own fuel costs.
- Van size. Bigger vehicles cost more to run and hire.
- Time on the job. Waiting while items are packed, or getting stuck in traffic, can push a half-day into a full day.
- Loaders. Carrying items down stairs or across a long compound needs extra hands, usually charged per person.
- Access. Narrow streets, estate gate rules and high floors without lifts add time.
- Date. Month-end and weekends are busy for moves, and prices can be firmer then.
