Why do the two GIGM figures disagree? The May survey is a broad estimate across classes and dates, while the August list quotes the fare shown for the Jibowu terminal. Treat any single figure as a guide rather than a promise. Prices also rise around Christmas, Easter and New Year, as the May 2026 survey notes.

What it cost before, and what it costs now
The original version of this guide listed fares of about ₦24,000–₦27,100. Those figures matched a September 2023 price list that put ABC at ₦25,000, Chisco at ₦24,000, GUO at ₦26,000 and GIGM at ₦27,100. By 2026 the typical range has moved to the ₦30,000s at the bottom and up to ₦60,000 for premium seats. Fuel is the main driver: NNPC stations in Lagos were selling petrol at ₦1,370 per litre on 28 September 2026, according to Legit.ng.

Flying from Lagos to Enugu
The flight takes about an hour, against 7–10 hours by road. The May 2026 survey put one-way fares at ₦220,000–₦250,000. Book early and avoid Fridays and holiday weekends if you want the lower end. Where to board in Lagos
Most Enugu buses leave from Jibowu, Ojota, Mazamaza, Ajah and Iyana Ipaja. GIGM quotes its Lagos to Enugu fare from its Jibowu terminal. Morning departures between about 5:00 am and 7:30 am are the norm, so you reach Enugu in daylight; a few operators run evening buses too. Confirm departure times with the operator, as schedules change.
