Quick answer

For same-day errands inside Lagos, app-based riders such as Kwik and Gokada are the quickest options; for interstate parcels, GIG Logistics (GIGL), Red Star Express and CourierPlus have the widest branch networks; and for international shipping, DHL Express, UPS or Red Star (the FedEx licensee in Nigeria) are the established choices. None of them publishes a fixed price list online in 2026, so get a live quote in the app or portal before you pay.

Courier rider delivering a parcel in Lagos

Lagos has more couriers than any other Nigerian city, but they are not interchangeable. A rider who can get a document from Yaba to Victoria Island in 90 minutes is usually the wrong choice for a 20 kg carton going to Kano, and neither is set up to clear customs in London. This guide ranks ten delivery companies we checked on their own websites in September 2026. It explains what each does best and how to choose between them.

We have also removed two names that appeared in the 2025 version of this list. MAX (max.ng) now redirects to maxdrive.ai, which describes a rider-financing and electric-vehicle business, not parcel delivery. AB Logistics could not be verified from an official source, so we left it out.

The top 10 delivery companies in Lagos

1. Kwik

Kwik is an on-demand delivery platform that lets you request a pickup from the app or the website. It says deliveries in the urban areas it serves are completed “within 2 hours max”. It offers vehicles from bikes up to 30-tonne trucks, and it also runs KwikShelf fulfilment for online stores. Its site says goods-in-transit insurance is included and that deliveries it fails to carry out are refunded. Prices are calculated per trip in the estimator, not published as a list.

2. GIG Logistics (GIGL)

GIGL is the strongest option when the parcel is leaving Lagos. It advertises standard domestic delivery in 2 to 5 business days, a GoFaster express service of 24 to 48 hours to major cities, cash-on-delivery for e-commerce, haulage and warehousing. It also exports to 230+ destinations and imports from the USA, UK, Canada, China and Ghana. You can book on the GIGGo app or walk into one of its 170+ Experience Centres. GIGL lists +234 708 096 0441 and +234 707 756 6565 as customer lines.

3. Gokada

Gokada moved from bike-hailing into logistics in March 2020 and now focuses on last-mile parcel delivery, food delivery (GFood) and business delivery (GBusiness) through its SuperApp. It currently serves Lagos only. Its pricing is per delivery rather than per item, so you can put several items in one box for the same flat trip fee. This suits small online shops.

4. Sendbox

Sendbox is built for personal senders, social-commerce sellers and brands that need local and international shipping from one dashboard. It is based at 62 Old Yaba Road, Yaba. Rates are only shown once you create an account on app.sendbox.co or the mobile app.

5. Red Star Express

Red Star Express Plc describes itself as the licensee of FedEx in Nigeria, so FedEx international shipments from Lagos go through Red Star. It also offers domestic courier, same-day e-commerce delivery in metropolitan areas, payment on delivery, freight and customs brokerage. Its contact line is 01-2715670-6 and its email is enquiries@redstarplc.com. For more detail, see our guide to how FedEx delivery works in Nigeria.

6. CourierPlus

CourierPlus operates from 45+ locations and offers same-day delivery to selected airport cities for items received before 10:00am. It also has a domestic economy service, e-commerce solutions and international express to 190+ countries. Its head office is at 42 Concord Way, off Airport Road, Ikeja. You can check rates and book pickups on its self-service portal.

7. EMS Speedpost (NIPOST)

The Nigerian Postal Service runs EMS parcels through the post office network. It publishes a tariff page and an online tariff calculator, and has its own tracking site at tracking.nipost.gov.ng. It is rarely the fastest option, but it is useful for low-value items and addresses outside the private couriers’ coverage. You will need the correct postal code for the destination.

8. DHL Express

DHL Express handles international documents and parcels from Nigeria. It offers online booking, a quote tool, the MyDHL+ account portal and a service-point locator. In 2026 its Nigerian site lists demand surcharges and weekly fuel-surcharge updates, so quotes change from week to week. Always get a quote on the day you ship.

9. UPS Nigeria

United Parcel Service Nigeria Ltd is based at Plot 16, Oworonshoki Expressway, Gbagada Industrial Estate. It handles international parcels and quotes through ups.com. Our full UPS Nigeria guide lists its official contact numbers.

10. Topship

Topship presents itself as a “local and international delivery service” that is booked online at topship.africa. Its site needs JavaScript to load, so we could not independently confirm its carriers or rates. Ask for the carrier name and the tracking method before you pay.

How to choose the best delivery service in Lagos

  1. Match the service to the distance. Use a bike rider for same-day delivery within Lagos, an interstate courier for other states, and an express integrator (DHL, UPS or FedEx through Red Star) for international parcels.
  2. Check the weight and size. Bikes carry small boxes. Anything bulky needs a van or truck, which Kwik, GIGL and Travo can all arrange.
  3. Get a live quote. None of the companies above publishes a fixed Lagos price list. Fuel and demand surcharges move prices weekly, so quote on the day.
  4. Ask about insurance and refunds. Kwik says goods-in-transit cover is included. For other couriers, ask before handing over valuable items.
  5. Insist on tracking. Every serious courier gives a waybill or tracking number. Our package tracking guide shows how to use it.
  6. Think about traffic. Island to mainland runs at rush hour can take several hours. Book early-morning pickups for anything urgent.

What affects delivery prices in Lagos

  • Distance and bridges: island to mainland trips cost more than trips within one area.
  • Vehicle type: a bike costs least; a van or truck is priced by the load.
  • Fuel: NNPC pump prices in Lagos were about ₦1,385 per litre on 24 September 2026, and riders pass fuel costs on. See our petrol calculator guide.
  • Speed: same-day and express services cost more than economy services.
  • Cash on delivery and insurance: extra services usually add a fee.

Safety and scam tips

  • Pay only through the company’s app, portal or official bank details. Be wary of riders who ask you to transfer money to a personal account.
  • Photograph the item and the packaging before pickup.
  • Don’t send cash, prohibited items or original documents without asking about the courier’s liability limit.
  • For high-value online purchases, use an escrow-style payment so the seller is only paid on delivery.
