Commission
Bolt’s commission page for Nigeria says Bolt charges 20% commission on the final price of each order, for both cash and card rides and for cancellation fees. Commission is not taken from tips, bonuses, airport fees, toll fees or operational fees. In a fleet arrangement, the owner’s share comes out of what is left after Bolt’s commission. Do the maths before you agree to a weekly target.
How to get a car for Bolt in Lagos, Abuja or Port Harcourt

Plenty of fleet owners are looking for drivers. Keeping good drivers is the hard part. Here is what works:
- Vet drivers properly. Check their licence and NIN, and take references from previous owners. Bolt reviews documents, but checking the person is your job.
- Make the remittance realistic. A target the driver cannot meet after 20% commission and fuel leads to overworking, accidents or the driver disappearing.
- Track your cars. Use the Bolt fleet portal for trip data and a GPS tracker for the car itself.
- Budget for downtime. The car will need servicing, AutoXRay inspections every six months and insurance renewals.
