Comair Flight Services cargo enquiries should go to the South African CFS charter business with a precise load brief. Its public website advertises executive aircraft charter, aircraft management and fixed-base operations. Those services do not automatically establish a scheduled cargo product or acceptance of every unaccompanied shipment.

Identify the right CFS business and service

The official CFS website describes private aircraft charter and its Lanseria fixed-base operation. A fixed-base operator, or FBO, provides aviation ground services; booking handling is different from reserving aircraft capacity for goods.

Use the full Comair Flight Services name when making enquiries. Do not assume that information about a similarly named scheduled airline describes CFS’s charter business. Ask which contracting company and aircraft operator would carry your load.

Current Comair Flight Services enquiry contacts

The official contact page lists charter@flycfs.com for charter enquiries, hello@flycfs.com for general enquiries and +27 11 540 7640. Its enquiry form distinguishes Aircraft Charter from Handling/FBO. Select the service that matches your need and state clearly that goods or equipment are involved.

Prepare a complete shipment brief

  • Origin and destination, shipping date and delivery deadline.
  • Contents, package count, gross weights and dimensions.
  • Any batteries, liquids, chemicals, perishables or fragile items.
  • Sender, receiver and destination collection contacts.
  • Required airport handling, customs assistance or road delivery.

Passengers with equipment or freight-only carriage?

For a business team travelling with specialist equipment, provide passenger numbers separately from the package list. Identify rigid cases, oversized pieces and items that must reach the destination with the travellers. A passenger charter quote may need revision after the equipment has been assessed.

If no passenger accompanies the goods, ask whether CFS can propose an approved freight arrangement. Obtain the aircraft configuration, operator and cargo acceptance procedure. The existence of a large charter fleet does not show that every aircraft can carry a particular load.

Loading and special-cargo checks

Send each piece’s gross weight and external dimensions, plus photographs for awkward items. Ask about loading aperture, floor loading, restraint and equipment at departure and arrival. Confirm whether the load remains suitable if an alternative aircraft is proposed.

Disclose batteries, liquids, chemicals, compressed gas and any temperature-sensitive contents. For machinery or used tools, identify residues and attached components. Request preparation and documentation instructions from the accepting team before buying packaging or releasing the consignment.

Charter quote versus handling quote

For aircraft capacity, ask for positioning, flight sectors, airport charges, permits, handling and waiting costs. For an FBO-only request, identify the aircraft movement and ask which ground services are included. A handling confirmation does not itself confirm the commercial carriage of your cargo.

Clarify whether road collection, packing, storage or final delivery needs a separate provider. Compare proposals using the same route, accepted load and service endpoint. Check payment, cancellation and changes to the aircraft or departure date.

Airport handover and cross-border equipment

Obtain the correct receiving address and delivery window; do not assume passenger lounge arrival instructions apply to goods. Agree weighing, screening, loading and manifest responsibilities. Retain a handover receipt and reconcile every package.

For equipment moving temporarily across a border, explain the intended use and return plan to the appointed customs adviser. Flight permissions and goods clearance are separate requirements. At the destination, identify the person authorised to collect and the transport needed to reach the final work site.

Frequently asked questions

Can I treat a CFS passenger charter enquiry as a cargo booking?

Obtain explicit acceptance of the goods and the proposed carriage arrangement.

Is FBO handling the same as freight space?

No. Ground services and the aircraft transport agreement have different scopes.

Which email should I use?

CFS publishes charter@flycfs.com for charter requests. Check its current contact page and explain the shipment requirement.

Turn your enquiry into a workable shipping plan

A film team travelling with camera cases may need some equipment on the passenger charter and larger production items moved separately. Provide the dimensions and contents of both groups. Ask which items the proposed aircraft can accept and whether the receiving airport can handle the other freight. If equipment returns after the shoot, arrange the goods-clearance and road-delivery plan for both directions. That creates a complete itinerary for people and equipment rather than a passenger booking with unresolved freight assumptions.

Compare the complete quotation

Ask for the total payable for the same shipment and delivery endpoint. A lower flight charge can leave screening, storage, handling and road transport to be paid separately. Check the quotation’s expiry date, payment currency and what happens if the flight changes. Identify who will notify the receiver when the cargo is ready and who pays for a delay in collection. Keep written acceptance with the booking reference before releasing the goods.

How Travo can assist

Travo’s haulage services can assess the road movement of bulky equipment, including the vehicle and loading support required. For goods entering Nigeria, our international shipping service offers freight coordination, customs support through licensed clearing partners and onward delivery. Agree how these ground arrangements connect with the operator’s charter plan and whether airport storage or a further transfer is needed.

Request a shipment plan from Travo with your collection and delivery addresses, goods description, dimensions, weight and deadline. Ask which services are included, which need separate approval and what the delivery estimate depends on. This lets you coordinate the ground journey with the airline’s confirmed acceptance.
