New Lagos to Ghana fare check: 19 October 2026
ABC Transport’s booking results displayed ₦105,000 for a Lagos Jibowu–Accra Sprinter service departing at 6:00 am on 22 October 2026. This is one dated one-way example, not a general Ghana road fare, a guaranteed seat or a return price. Confirm the total and availability directly on ABC’s booking site.
The international search displayed an inconsistent duration/arrival-day combination, so confirm the expected arrival with the operator before organising an onward connection. Border processing and road conditions can add uncertainty. Do not treat a timetable estimate as a guaranteed door-to-door journey time.
Ask about the exact Accra terminal, luggage, document checks and any separately payable items. Establish the current entry and transit requirements for the traveller’s nationality with the relevant authorities; paying for a bus seat does not replace immigration permission. Declare commercial goods appropriately and price cargo separately from passenger baggage.
For GUO, Cross Country, GIGM, Chisco or another operator, use a separate current quote rather than applying ABC’s fare. Compare the Nigeria operator price-list directory and ABC Lagos route guide. Send Travo your date, passenger count, luggage, Lagos pickup and final destination for related travel-coordination enquiries.

Documents you need at the borders
- Passport or ECOWAS travel document. The Ghana Immigration Service lists Nigeria among the ECOWAS countries that do not need a visa for Ghana. You still need a valid travel document at every border. Our guide to the ECOWAS passport versus the international passport explains the difference.
- Yellow fever card. Carry your vaccination card, as health checks are common on West African borders. Confirm the current requirement with Ghana’s port health or immigration service.
- Bus ticket and ID. Keep your ticket and a copy of your passport data page handy.
- Small amounts of local cash. Benin and Togo use the CFA franc and Ghana uses the cedi. Change a little money for food and incidentals.
The list of ECOWAS member states shows which countries are covered by free movement.

Bus or flight to Ghana?
- Bus: a single fare of about ₦105,000, a larger luggage allowance and no airport transfers. The trade-off is a long day and several border checks.
- Flight: far quicker, but you add airport transfers and check-in time, and fares vary widely. See Travo flight deals to compare.
Tips for a smooth trip
- Book a few days ahead. The international buses have few seats, and busy periods such as Christmas and Easter sell out.
- Arrive at Jibowu at least an hour before departure. ABC’s homepage board lists 6:45 am, while the booking search showed 6:00 am, so go by the time on your ticket.
- Keep documents in a pouch you can reach quickly at each border.
- Pack water and snacks, as stops can be short.
- Use only official immigration desks and keep receipts for any payment.
