A business-service vendor in Lagos might provide software, supplies, catering, transport, utilities or professional advice. “General vendor” is too broad to price or assess reliably. Start with the actual outcome and the person who will accept it, then identify the supplier, delivery arrangement and evidence needed to close the order.
General vendor and ecommerce: name the seller and the fulfilment chain
For a general purchase, state the product, specification, quantity, delivery address, date and acceptance criteria. Ask who is selling the goods, who holds the stock and who delivers them. An ecommerce platform or storefront can connect these activities, but it does not make every seller and delivery provider the same contracting business.
For an online store, map the whole order: payment confirmation, stock allocation, picking, packaging, delivery attempt, recipient acceptance and returns. Define who handles an unavailable item, a wrong address or a damaged return. Travo’s business and ecommerce delivery service and warehouse fulfilment service are useful starting points for a coordinated enquiry.
Technology provider or consultant?
A technology provider should identify the actual product or implementation, users, access controls, integrations, reporting and support. Ask which features are available now and which need configuration or development. Confirm data ownership, export, support response, recurring charges and the process for ending or changing the service. A demonstration should use appropriate test data rather than expose confidential customer information.
For API or store integration requirements, use the current Travo developer documentation and confirm the access and support arrangement with the team. Do not assume a general logistics software vendor can integrate every platform or provides every feature mentioned in a category label.
A consultant should have a defined problem, deliverables, timeline and relevant competence. Specify whether you need advice, an implementation plan, training or ongoing operation. Agree how recommendations will be handed over and who is responsible for carrying them out. A report alone is different from an outsourced managed service.
Insurance provider, industry association and regulatory body
For insurance, establish whether you are dealing with an insurer, broker or another intermediary and what role it performs. Check the appropriate current status through NAICOM and review the actual written policy or service terms with the relevant qualified provider. A dated listing or a generic vendor badge does not establish the cover for a particular cargo, vehicle or business activity.
A logistics association can be an industry contact or membership organisation. Its membership is not the same thing as statutory authorisation, insurance or guaranteed service quality. A regulatory body exercises its own public function; it is not a general vendor that can be hired to bypass a process. Use the regulator’s own published channels for its requirements.
Training certification provider: define the outcome
State the skills, assessment and evidence your staff need. Ask who delivers the course, who issues the certificate and what recognition is relevant to the intended role. A completion certificate does not automatically create a professional licence or establish competence for every task. Confirm entry requirements, course delivery, assessment and cancellation terms before enrolling.
If you need driver or logistics training, use Travo’s software and training catalogue to discuss the available enquiry. Keep a training booking separate from employment, a driver-leasing contract or an equipment-operation assignment. Each requires its own acceptance and responsibilities.
Caterer, water supplier, fuel distributor and waste provider
| Vendor type | Useful specification | Receiving and completion checks |
|---|---|---|
| Caterer | People or portions, menu, dietary/allergen needs, event timing and service style. | Agreed food handling, delivery window, receiving contact and any onsite service. |
| Water distribution company | Intended use, required specification, volume and delivery location. | Appropriate supplier evidence, site access, receiving arrangements and quantity record. |
| Fuel distribution company | Product, required quantity, location and delivery window. | Competent supplier acceptance, site readiness, agreed quantity evidence and full quote. |
| Waste management provider | Waste stream, expected quantity, collection frequency and access. | Accepted materials, collection and destination scope, records and exception process. |
Do not substitute a general waste collection booking for a specialist hazardous-waste requirement, or assume all delivered water has the same intended use. Give accurate contents and purpose so the proposed supplier can assess the job. A fuel-station visit is different from bulk distribution to a premises. The Travo utilities and errands catalogue groups relevant enquiries, but the specific supplier and arrangement still need confirmation.
Passenger transport vendors for staff, customers and events
An intercity bus operator provides a named route and ticketed service; a passenger train operator provides its accepted rail journey. A taxi operator handles an agreed trip, while a car-rental company offers a rental under particular driver and use terms. Confirm the actual booking product rather than compare a per-seat ticket with an exclusive vehicle price.
For staff travel or an event, give passengers, bags, pickup points, waiting and return needs. A car fleet operator may offer a repeat operating arrangement, but the cars, drivers and schedule must be accepted for the work. Our bus operator and ticket-check guide explains terminal and fare comparisons. The vendor-type guide maps these roles alongside freight and fleet suppliers.

Ask Travo about business suppliers and related services in Lagos
We can discuss vendor onboarding, storefront and delivery integration, transport, storage, utilities and relevant coordination enquiries. Tell us what needs to be supplied or completed and how success will be checked so the proposed service and quotation match the job. Send Travo your Lagos vendor or service enquiry with the job, locations, dates, volumes and required outcome. We can discuss relevant services and coordination, then confirm the actual provider, availability, responsibilities and quote before booking.
Travo’s service catalogue includes vendor onboarding, business delivery, storage, transport, utilities and related support. A vendor category does not mean every supplier is listed, available or owned by Travo.
Reviewed 22 October 2026. Confirm the actual supplier, accepted scope, current credentials where relevant, availability and written quotation before ordering.

A recurring Lagos office contract needs several acceptance points
An office may need catering, drinking-water delivery, waste collection and staff transport on the same day. Put each service on its own schedule and define the person authorised to accept it. A missed delivery, rejected order or late vehicle should have a named escalation contact and an agreed response rather than being hidden inside a general monthly invoice.
| Service | Information to supply | Completion or acceptance question |
|---|---|---|
| Catering | Headcount, menu, dietary requirements, venue and serving time | Who checks the delivered quantity and agreed food-service arrangement? |
| Water distribution | Intended use, quantity, access and receiving arrangement | What evidence supports the supplied water specification and delivery quantity? |
| Fuel distribution | Product, quantity, tank/access information and delivery window | How are the agreed product and quantity checked at handover? |
| Waste management | Waste streams, segregation, volumes and collection frequency | What collection, destination and handling records are included? |
| Passenger transport | Passengers, route, reporting point, luggage and timetable | Who confirms the operator, accepted itinerary and completed trip? |
The intended use matters. Water for a construction task and drinking water have different specifications. A general waste collection is different from a hazardous or clinical waste enquiry. State the requirement accurately so the supplier can confirm the suitable process; do not assume one vehicle or general vendor listing covers every use.
Technology provider and consultant: agree a demonstrable result
A consultant may produce advice or a plan, while a technology provider may supply software, integration or ongoing operation. Specify the deliverables separately. For a travel or logistics integration, identify the functions to demonstrate, who supplies access, how testing is accepted and what support follows launch. A product presentation is not evidence that an integration is live for your business.
Travo’s developer and integration information is a starting point for a scoped enquiry. Send the current systems, required booking or delivery flow and reporting needs. Ask which features are available for the proposed arrangement and which depend on another provider, approval or configuration.
Insurance, training and institutional contacts
When insurance is needed, identify the actual insurer or intermediary, insured activity, exclusions, period and claims route. A vendor’s statement that it is insured does not establish cover for your particular cargo, vehicle or job. Verify the claimed credentials and policy through the responsible official channels. Do not treat an industry association as the issuer of every member’s insurance or a substitute for regulatory checks.
For training certification, specify whether you need instruction, an attendance record, an assessment or a qualification recognised for a particular purpose. Ask who issues it and who recognises it for the intended role. A general training certificate should not be described as an operating licence or authority to perform regulated work.
Compare recurring invoices with the underlying records
Agree how deliveries, service visits, exceptions, refunds and changes appear on the statement. For staff travel, compare Travo corporate travel coordination and the Naira billing and approvals guide. For ecommerce, name the seller, stock owner, warehouse and delivery provider so order queries reach the right party.
