Finding a transport hub in Lagos is only the first step in making a journey work. You need the right terminal, a departure that serves your destination and a practical way to reach the final address. A bus station, private interstate terminal, railway station and ferry terminal can be close on a map while using different tickets, entrances and operating hours.
Choose the location type that matches the trip
| Location | What to check |
|---|---|
| Bus station | Local route, direction, boarding bay and the last useful departure. |
| Private bus terminal | Operating company, intercity destination and exact address on the ticket. |
| Railway Station | Rail operator, service, station entrance and ticket requirements. |
| Ferry Terminal | Current route, operator, boarding time and onward transport. |
| Taxi Stand | Authorised pickup area, destination, fare and vehicle identity. |
| Airport | Flight number, date and the actual domestic or international terminal. |
| Seaport | Terminal, authorised access and whether the visit concerns cargo or approved passenger activity. |
| Car Rental Location | Vehicle collection, driver arrangement, deposit and return procedure. |
| Bicycle Sharing Station | An active scheme, available bicycle, return area and safe route. |
| Heliport | Approved operator, passenger acceptance and controlled-site access. |
| Drone port | Actual operating site, authorised use and flight permissions; not an ordinary passenger terminal. |
Bus stations and private terminals: match the operator
An area name such as Jibowu, Oshodi, Ojota or Ajah is not a complete boarding instruction. Confirm the company name and gate, reporting time, vehicle class and baggage allowance. A local bus interchange may not be where your interstate coach departs. If you are travelling overnight, read the arrival date as well as the time and arrange collection at the destination.
For shared or private group transport, give the passenger count and luggage volume before choosing a vehicle. A bus with enough seats may not have enough room for the bags. Travo can discuss available ticket or driver arrangements; any operator’s issued ticket remains the source for its service details.
Railway stations and ferry terminals
Use LAMATA’s Blue Line schedule for the Lagos service rather than treating an old route diagram as a current timetable. Marina and Mile 2 are named endpoints on that published schedule. Confirm the day, operating notice and ticket process before leaving. An urban rail journey and an intercity railway booking are different products, even when a city contains both.
For a ferry, identify the precise jetty and the operator’s current departure. Ask about weather disruption, baggage, lifejackets and the last return sailing. A nearby waterfront is not necessarily an authorised boarding point. If a ferry forms part of an airport connection or an important appointment, allow for disruption and consider an alternative road transfer.
Airport and seaport visits require different access checks
Give a driver the flight number and terminal rather than saying only “Lagos airport”. FAAN’s Passenger Experience Hub distinguishes terminal help points at Murtala Muhammed Airport. Check the airline’s latest terminal instruction and any airport operating notice, particularly when facilities are changing. Meeting a passenger outside arrivals is different from access to a restricted cargo or operational area.
A seaport is not a ferry station. For an Apapa, Tin Can Island or other cargo-terminal visit, confirm the terminal operator, purpose, appointment, identification and release documentation. Someone collecting goods needs a different plan from a passenger looking for a lagoon ferry. Ask for a clear meeting point outside restricted areas if you do not have approved entry.
Heliports, drone ports and bicycle sharing
These categories need a confirmed operator and service, not just a map pin. A heliport may serve controlled commercial operations rather than walk-up passenger journeys. For a drone-port enquiry, establish whether the site handles authorised aircraft operations and whether the requested movement is permitted. The NCAA RPAS portal is a starting point for official drone requirements; an address does not grant permission to launch or receive a drone.
For bicycle sharing, verify that the scheme is currently operating in your area, how the bicycle is unlocked and where it must be returned. Consider a suitable route, lighting, luggage and your own riding ability. Do not assume that a directory entry guarantees a bicycle or a protected cycle route at the time of travel.

How Travo can help in Lagos
We can help with travel-booking enquiries, airport pickups and car-and-driver coordination. Tell us if you need one connection or a complete journey, including a hotel, group pickup or parcel movement. Send your Lagos service enquiry with the area, date, exact pickup and destination, and the assistance required. We will confirm the service scope, availability and quotation before you commit.
You can also browse the Travo location directory and Travo service catalogue. A directory category helps you search; confirm a listing’s actual activity, address, opening hours and suitability directly before visiting.
Reviewed 16 October 2026. Availability, prices, access and opening hours should be confirmed for your intended visit.
