Update, 2 October 2026: Uber has left Nigeria
Uber stopped operating in Nigeria on 2 September 2026, so the Uber app no longer takes rides, deliveries or new drivers here. The Uber details below are kept for reference only. Bolt and inDrive still operate, or you can book a vetted driver on Travo. Compare options in our guide to Uber alternatives in Nigeria.
Uber has now ended its operations in Nigeria, making its competitors more important for passengers and drivers looking for alternative ride-hailing services. The main platforms to consider include Bolt, inDrive and LagRide.
Bolt Nigeria
Bolt is one of the strongest Uber competitors in Nigeria and remains committed to the Nigerian market. It offers app-based rides in several Nigerian cities, with passengers able to view an estimated fare before booking.
For former Uber drivers, Bolt is also one of the most obvious platforms to consider when looking for another source of ride-hailing income.
inDrive Nigeria
inDrive competes differently by allowing passengers to suggest a fare and drivers to accept or negotiate the offer.
This makes it attractive to passengers looking for flexible pricing and drivers who want greater control over the trips they accept.
LagRide
LagRide is a locally focused ride-hailing service available in Lagos. It provides another option for passengers who need transportation around the city.
Other Ride-Hailing Options
Nigeria’s mobility market also includes smaller and specialised platforms. Availability varies by city, so passengers should check which services have enough drivers in their area before relying on a particular app.
Which Uber Competitor Is Best?
For most passengers, Bolt is a strong all-round alternative, while inDrive is useful for fare negotiation. LagRide is another option for Lagos residents.
