The Uber account Nigeria shutdown follows Uber’s decision to end its ride-hailing operations in the country. Uber officially stopped providing new rides in Nigeria on September 2, 2026, ending its 12-year presence in the market. (Reuters)

What Happens to Uber Accounts in Nigeria?

The shutdown of Uber’s Nigerian ride-hailing service does not necessarily mean that every account disappears immediately. Users may still be able to access account information and contact Uber about outstanding issues.

Uber’s Help Centre is expected to remain available until September 23, 2026, allowing riders and drivers to deal with unresolved account matters, payments, refunds and other questions. (Reuters)

However, having access to your account does not mean you can continue booking Uber rides in Nigeria.

Can You Still Book Uber With Your Old Account?

No. An existing Nigerian Uber account cannot be used to request new Uber rides after the company’s September 2 shutdown.

If you have an outstanding payment, refund request or another account issue, it is advisable to contact Uber support while the remaining support period is available.

What Should Uber Users Do Now?

Former Uber riders can move to other transportation options depending on their location and travel requirements. Bolt and inDrive remain options for app-based transportation in Nigeria.

For planned journeys, however, you may prefer services that allow you to arrange transportation around your specific needs rather than relying only on on-demand ride-hailing.

How Travo.ng Can Help

Travo.ng provides a broader range of transportation and logistics services for people and businesses in Nigeria.

You can arrange airport pickups when travelling through major airports, hire a professional driver for business meetings or events, and arrange intercity transportation and bus ticket bookings for journeys outside your city.

Travo.ng also supports parcel delivery and haulage, making it useful for businesses that need to move goods as well as individuals who need transportation.

With Uber no longer providing ride-hailing services in Nigeria, users should make alternative arrangements for future trips. For airport transfers, professional drivers, intercity travel and logistics, Travo.ng provides several services through one platform.
