Update, 2 October 2026: Uber has left Nigeria
Uber stopped operating in Nigeria on 2 September 2026, so the Uber app no longer takes rides, deliveries or new drivers here. Where this article mentions Uber, use another option instead. Bolt and inDrive still operate, or you can book a vetted driver on Travo. Compare options in our guide to Uber alternatives in Nigeria.
Finding a ride hailing promo in Nigeria can help reduce transportation costs, especially for people who regularly use ride-hailing services in busy cities such as Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt.
With Uber no longer operating in Nigeria, riders now have to look at promotions offered by active transportation platforms. Bolt currently lists rider promotions in Nigeria, although offers can vary by market, user and campaign. (Bolt)
Where Can You Find Ride-Hailing Promos?
Ride-hailing promotions can come in different forms, including:
- Discounted first rides for new users
- Promo codes for selected trips
- Referral rewards
- Limited-time discounts
- Event or location-based offers
Promotions are usually subject to specific terms, so check the app before booking to confirm that an offer applies to your location and trip.
Are There Ride-Hailing Promos After Uber’s Exit?
Yes. Other platforms continue to operate in Nigeria following Uber’s departure. Bolt has reaffirmed its commitment to the Nigerian market, while inDrive also continues operating in the country. (TheCable)
However, you should not assume that a promo code found online is still active. Ride-hailing promotions can expire quickly or be restricted to particular cities, accounts or campaigns.
How to Save on Ride-Hailing Trips
Compare prices before requesting a ride rather than choosing a platform based only on a promotional discount. Check the final fare, pickup time and available vehicle options.
You can also look for promotions directly inside the transportation app and check whether the discount has been applied before confirming your trip.
