Buying from multiple Chinese suppliers can give you better product variety and pricing, but shipping each order separately can create unnecessary freight charges and make your logistics harder to manage. A common solution is to have the different suppliers send their goods to one China warehouse before arranging international shipping.

How to Ship from Multiple Chinese Suppliers

1. Collect Your Supplier Information

Before placing your orders, create a list containing each supplier’s name, address, contact details, products, expected quantity and estimated completion date.

Also record the number of cartons, weight and dimensions when available. This information helps with planning the final shipment.

2. Use One China Warehouse

Give each supplier the delivery address of your chosen consolidation warehouse in China.

Instead of:

Supplier A → Your Country
Supplier B → Your Country
Supplier C → Your Country

the process becomes:

Supplier A →
Supplier B → China Warehouse → One International Shipment
Supplier C →

The warehouse receives and records the different packages before they are prepared for export.

3. Track Every Supplier’s Delivery

Chinese suppliers may use different domestic delivery companies, so keep each tracking number and match it to the correct supplier and order.

Clear identification is important when several packages are arriving at the same warehouse.

4. Inspect and Organise the Goods

Once the packages arrive, the warehouse can check carton quantities, packaging condition and other agreed requirements. More detailed product inspection can also be requested where necessary.

If a problem is discovered, you have an opportunity to contact the supplier before the goods leave China.

5. Consolidate the Orders

When the relevant packages have arrived, the warehouse can combine suitable shipments. Repacking may also be used to remove unnecessary packaging or make better use of available space.

You do not always have to wait for every supplier. If one supplier is significantly delayed, you can decide whether to ship the available cargo first or wait for the remaining goods.

6. Choose Air or Sea Freight

Air freight is generally suitable for smaller or urgent shipments where faster delivery is important.

Sea freight is usually more suitable for larger or heavier cargo. LCL can be used when the shipment does not require a full container, while FCL is appropriate for larger volumes.

The cheapest option depends on your cargo size, destination and required delivery time.

Can Multiple Suppliers Share One Shipment?

Yes. Products from different Chinese suppliers can generally be consolidated when they are being shipped to the same destination and are compatible with the chosen freight arrangement.

For example, you could buy clothing from Guangzhou, electronics accessories from Shenzhen and household products from Yiwu. The different orders can be delivered to a suitable warehouse, organised and consolidated before international forwarding.

What Can Increase Your Costs?

Consolidation does not automatically make every shipment cheaper. Costs can increase because of:

  • Long warehouse storage periods
  • Domestic transportation from distant suppliers
  • Oversized packaging
  • Special handling requirements
  • Product restrictions
  • Customs duties and taxes
  • Destination handling charges

Compare the complete landed cost rather than looking only at the international freight rate.
