Finding a suitable airport car park Lagos in Nigeria can be stressful, especially when you are rushing to catch a flight or picking up someone arriving from another city. Between airport traffic, parking charges, and locating the right terminal, proper planning can save you unnecessary delays.
Whether you are travelling through Murtala Muhammed International Airport or the domestic terminals in Ikeja, knowing where to park and how airport access works makes your journey easier.
Where to Find Airport Car Park Lagos in Nigeria
Lagos airport has different parking arrangements depending on the terminal you are using.
At Murtala Muhammed International Airport, designated parking areas serve travellers, airport visitors, and drivers waiting for arriving passengers.
Domestic travellers using Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two (MMA2) also have access to organised parking facilities.
Before driving to the airport, confirm your airline’s departure terminal. The international terminal, MMA2, and the General Aviation Terminal have different access routes and parking arrangements.
Driving to the wrong terminal can waste valuable time, particularly during busy morning departures.
How Much Does Airport Parking Cost in Lagos?
Parking charges depend on the terminal, vehicle category, and duration of your stay.
Short visits for passenger drop-offs or pickups may attract different charges from extended parking.
Some facilities calculate charges according to parking duration, while longer stays may require separate arrangements.
Before leaving your vehicle, confirm:
- The current parking rate and payment method.
- Whether overnight parking is permitted.
- Available security arrangements.
- Operating hours and vehicle collection procedures.
- Whether parking tickets must be presented before exiting.
Avoid relying on outdated online parking prices because airport operators can revise their charges.
Avoiding Traffic When Driving to Lagos Airport
Traffic remains one of the biggest challenges for airport passengers in Lagos.
Travellers coming from Lekki, Victoria Island, Ajah, or the mainland should consider possible congestion around Oshodi, Airport Road, and connecting routes.
For international flights, airlines commonly recommend arriving approximately three hours before departure. Domestic passengers should generally allow around two hours, subject to airline instructions.
These allowances should exclude your estimated driving time.
During festive periods, public holidays, and December travel peaks, leave additional time for parking, luggage handling, and terminal entry.
Is Airport Parking Better Than Booking a Pickup?
Parking your vehicle at the airport may be convenient for short visits. However, leaving a personal car for several days can create additional expenses and collection concerns.
For longer trips, arranging airport transportation may be more practical.
Travo.ng provides airport pickup and transport coordination services for travellers who prefer organised movement without worrying about parking arrangements.
For example, someone arriving from Abuja with heavy luggage can arrange transportation from Lagos airport to Lekki, Ikeja, or Victoria Island.
This reduces the need to search for available vehicles immediately after landing.
