Air Ghana cargo booking starts with a quote and acceptance enquiry through the operator’s official cargo channel. Air Ghana advertises cargo solutions, charter and ground handling from its Accra base. Before dispatch, confirm the service available for your origin, destination, shipment size and deadline.
Official cargo and charter enquiry channels
Air Ghana’s website links cargo enquiries to hello@airghana.com and charter requests to Charters@airghana.com. It identifies its cargo centre at Accra International Airport and advertises Boeing 737-400 freighter operations.
The website also lists cargo sales representation for partner airlines. Ask whether your proposed movement is on Air Ghana’s own operated capacity, a partner carrier or an itinerary arranged through a sales representative. The answer determines the booking and tracking process.
How to prepare your booking request
Send the departure and destination airports, cargo ready date, required arrival time, commodity, package count, gross weight and dimensions of each packed piece. State whether the goods are stackable and whether they need controlled temperature, extra security or special loading.
For Nigeria–Ghana shipments, include both airport transport and the planned road legs. Ask whether a direct flight is available, or whether the proposal includes a connection. Do not assume the company’s wider African marketing establishes daily Lagos–Accra cargo space.
What to check in the quotation
- Confirmed route, service date and cargo acceptance cut-off.
- Actual and volumetric weight calculation and minimum charges.
- Origin and destination handling, screening and storage fees.
- Responsibility for customs and regulatory documents.
- Collection instructions and the nominated receiving party.
Request the payment currency, quotation validity and cancellation terms. A low airline transport rate can still produce a higher completed delivery cost if handling and road transfer are excluded.
When does a charter enquiry make sense?
Consider charter when the shipment is too large for available capacity or has a strict operational deadline. Provide a load list with the heaviest piece and any loading drawings. The operator needs to assess door access, floor limits, route payload and unloading support.
For smaller consignments, compare scheduled airfreight with a charter proposal before reserving an entire aircraft. Ask for the total collection-to-delivery timeline, including cargo terminal procedures.
Frequently asked questions
Can I obtain Air Ghana cargo rates online?
Use the official cargo enquiry route for a current shipment-specific quotation. This guide does not provide an assumed per-kilogram tariff.
Does booking include customs clearance?
Only if it is explicitly included in the commercial offer. Agree who handles export preparation, import release and delivery before dispatch.
What reference should I retain?
Keep the confirmed booking and air waybill or shipment reference supplied by the carrier or agent, together with the operations contact.
Turn your enquiry into a workable shipping plan
A cargo request from a trader and an enquiry for a dedicated aircraft need different information. For cartons, send the packing list and ask about booking and cargo acceptance. For a charter, include the full load, loading equipment, delivery deadline and any restrictions at the destination. State whether goods can be split between departures or must arrive together. If a connecting movement is proposed, identify who has custody of the shipment between flights and how temperature-sensitive or fragile goods will be handled during that interval.
Compare the complete quotation
Ask for the total payable for the same shipment and delivery endpoint. A lower flight charge can leave screening, storage, handling and road transport to be paid separately. Identify who will notify the receiver when the cargo is ready and who pays for a delay in collection. Keep written acceptance with the booking reference before releasing the goods.
For smaller domestic parcels within Ghana, our Africa World Airlines cargo guide explains a separate airport-to-airport service.
How Travo can assist
For a consignment travelling into or out of Nigeria, Travo’s international shipping service offers freight coordination, supplier collection and consolidation, customs support through licensed clearing partners and onward delivery. If imported stock needs holding before distribution, ask about warehouse storage and fulfilment. Request the scope for your actual origin and destination, including any overseas partner arrangements and local delivery charges.
Request a shipment plan from Travo with your collection and delivery addresses, goods description, dimensions, weight and deadline. Ask which services are included, which need separate approval and what the delivery estimate depends on. This lets you coordinate the ground journey with the airline’s confirmed acceptance.
