Booking a flight no longer means visiting an airline office or sitting in front of a computer. Today, you can book flights on mobile while at home, in the office, or travelling across Nigeria. All you need is a smartphone, internet access, and the correct travel information.
However, mobile flight booking can become frustrating when payment fails, flight prices change unexpectedly, or passengers enter incorrect details.
Whether you’re travelling from Lagos to Abuja for business or planning a family trip to Port Harcourt, knowing how to book correctly saves time and unnecessary expenses.
How to Book Flights on Mobile in Nigeria
Booking flights through your smartphone is straightforward when you follow the right steps.
- Choose your destination: Enter your departure city, destination, and preferred travel date.
- Compare available flights: Check airlines, departure times, ticket prices, and baggage allowances.
- Enter passenger details: Use the exact name appearing on your accepted identification document.
- Review your booking: Confirm the travel date, airport, passenger information, and total fare.
- Complete payment: Use an available secure payment method and wait for confirmation.
- Save your ticket: Download your booking confirmation and keep your airline reference accessible.

What to Check Before Paying for Your Flight
One common mistake Nigerian travellers make is choosing the cheapest displayed fare without checking what it includes.
For example, a Lagos-to-Abuja ticket might appear affordable until you discover that checked baggage attracts additional charges.
Before completing payment, confirm:
- Whether checked baggage is included.
- The airline’s cancellation and rescheduling conditions.
- Your departure terminal and airport.
- The final ticket price, including additional fees.
- Whether your payment has generated a confirmed booking.
Flight prices can change quickly, particularly during Christmas, Easter, public holidays, and busy business travel periods.
Booking earlier generally gives you more options, although cheaper fares are never guaranteed.
Avoiding Payment Problems When Booking Flights on Mobile
Mobile banking delays and unstable internet connections can interrupt flight payments in Nigeria.
If your account is debited without receiving a ticket, avoid immediately making another payment.
First, check your email, booking history, and payment reference. Contact the booking provider or airline to confirm whether the reservation was successful.
Also, avoid switching repeatedly between payment pages during processing.
A successful bank debit does not automatically mean your airline ticket has been issued.
Planning Airport Transport After Booking
Your journey does not end when your flight is confirmed.
For passengers departing through Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos or Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, airport transport deserves attention.
Lagos traffic around Ikeja and major connecting roads can delay passengers, especially during morning and evening rush hours.
Travo.ng can assist with airport pickup arrangements, vehicle hire, and hotel reservations when these services are needed alongside flight bookings.
Arranging transport ahead of departure reduces last-minute uncertainty.
