Looking for a DHL Nigeria price list or UPS Nigeria price list usually means you need one answer: how much will this particular parcel cost to send? The useful price is the total for your packed shipment, collection point, destination and chosen service. A single “per kilogram” figure cannot reliably price documents, a large lightweight carton and a heavy spare part.

Where to get the official DHL and UPS Nigeria price

CarrierOfficial starting pointWhat to enter and check
DHL NigeriaGet a Quote or Ship NowOrigin and destination, package type, packed weight, dimensions, dispatch date and available service.
UPS NigeriaQuote and shipping toolsExact locations, parcel details and service level; review the total and conditions.

For DHL, start with Nigeria selected as the origin country when sending from Nigeria. A rate card for sending from the UK or United States is not a Nigeria export price list. For UPS, the Nigeria rates and surcharges page explains the charges that may sit alongside transportation. An account rate, promotional offer or business contract can differ from a walk-in quotation.

Weight is only part of a courier quotation

Weigh the fully packed parcel, including the box and protective material. Measure its longest external dimensions after packing. Carriers can compare actual weight with a dimensional or volumetric weight, using their applicable service rules. A bulky carton containing light items can therefore cost more than its scale weight suggests. Ask which weight was billed and which rounding increment applies; do not assume every carrier or product uses the same divisor.

A useful comparison might be a 2 kg parcel measuring 30 × 20 × 15 cm from Lagos to a specified Accra postcode. Those figures describe a sample shipment, not a promised price. If one quote uses a larger carton, a different destination area or a slower service, it is not a like-for-like comparison.

Extra charges to look for before you pay

Charge or decisionWhy it changes the totalQuestion to ask
Fuel surchargeMay change over time and apply to transport or other eligible charges. Is the current surcharge included?
Remote or extended areaSome delivery or collection locations attract additional charges.Has the actual postcode been checked?
Demand or emergency surchargeCan apply on particular services and lanes.Does one apply on this shipment date?
Large, heavy or irregular packagingSpecial handling can affect acceptance and cost.Does the parcel trigger an extra handling fee?
Customs and taxesDestination import assessment is separate from the courier base price.Who pays duties, taxes and clearance-related charges?
Collection, protection and optional servicesA pickup or selected service may be charged separately.Which optional items have been added?

DHL’s Nigeria demand-surcharge notice states an applicable period from 1 October 2026 to 5 February 2027. UPS’s Nigeria rate page lists fuel, extended-area and currency-risk provisions and a surge-emergency/demand notice effective 4 October 2026. These notices explain why an older screenshot may no longer match checkout; the specific lane and service still need checking.

Documents, goods and commercial consignments

Describe the contents accurately. For goods, have an item description, quantity, purpose and support for the declared value ready. Check packaging and acceptance before sending liquids, batteries, food, medicines or other restricted items. A carrier’s acceptance and customs requirements depend on the actual goods and route. Do not describe goods as documents or understate a value to obtain a lower quotation.

Ask whether the quote is for delivery to the recipient’s address or collection at a facility, and whether customs duties are paid by the sender or receiver. A cheaper headline price can leave the receiver facing additional charges. Keep the carrier invoice, shipment reference and tracking information together.

DHL, UPS or a Lagos dispatch rider?

For a local document run or small parcel within Lagos, a Lagos courier and pickup enquiry may be more appropriate than an international express shipment. Confirm pickup and delivery areas, timing, package suitability and proof of delivery. For multiple cartons, palletised goods or bulky stock, compare delivery vans and trucks in Lagos and freight options. A dispatch rider quotation is a separate local service; it is not a DHL or UPS tariff.

How businesses can compare repeat shipping costs

Give the carrier or logistics provider a realistic monthly shipment profile: destinations, parcel sizes, weights, collection frequency, product restrictions and return needs. Request a written explanation of the base rate and surcharge calculation. Keep actual invoices so you can compare the cost per completed delivery, including failed attempts or returns, rather than only an advertised discount.

Ask Travo about a Lagos pickup or delivery enquiry

Tell us what you are sending, where it starts and ends, the packed weight and dimensions, and the deadline. We can discuss local collection, delivery and related logistics requirements and clarify whether a carrier or freight quotation is needed. Send your requirements to Travo so we can confirm available options, scope and the written quotation before you commit. We offer travel and logistics enquiry assistance in Lagos; a named third-party brand is not a claim of ownership or appointment as its agent.

Frequently asked questions

How much is DHL or UPS per kilogram in Nigeria? There is no single reliable amount for every route and parcel. Use the official country-specific quote tool with the packed dimensions, weight and service. Confirm the total before paying.

Does the courier charge include customs duty? Do not assume so. Ask who pays destination duties, taxes and any clearance-related charges, and how those amounts will be communicated.

Can Travo guarantee the carrier’s online price? The carrier controls its tariff and acceptance. Travo can discuss your service enquiry; the final supplier, scope, price and conditions must be confirmed.
