Airport parking with a shuttle in Lagos can work when you want to leave the car away from the terminal and continue by transfer. The arrangement needs to cover two separate journeys: from the parking facility to your departure point and from your arrival point back to the car. Confirm both before you book.
If you only need an airport drop-off or pickup, a private transfer may be simpler than a parking package. This guide explains what to ask about shuttles, luggage, terminal names and waiting so the service fits your actual flight.
Distinguish parking transfers from airport buses
A car-park shuttle is a service linking a named parking facility with a terminal. A private airport transfer takes you between an address and an agreed airport point. An airport bus used for boarding is a different service. The existence of buses at an airport does not establish a public shuttle from your chosen car park.
FAAN’s international terminal rehabilitation guidance says the temporary departure hall and international Terminal 2 are linked by a nearby covered walking route, rather than a passenger shuttle between those buildings. Check current instructions before travel. That guidance does not establish a transfer between MMIA’s international facilities and MMA2’s domestic terminal.
Confirm the terminal, not just “Lagos airport”

Check the return terminal separately; the outward location should not simply be copied into the return booking. If you have a domestic connection after arriving internationally, agree a distinct transfer and allow for baggage collection and any arrival procedures.
Questions for a parking-with-shuttle package
- What is the car-storage address, and will the vehicle remain there?
- Which terminals does the shuttle serve?
- Is it scheduled or dispatched on request?
- What hours does it operate, including late-night returns?
- Are both trips included for every passenger and their bags?
- Is the transfer shared, and how long might you wait?
- What happens if a flight is delayed or lands at a different terminal?
- What phone number should you call after collecting baggage?
Ask for a realistic departure transfer allowance that includes loading, dispatch waiting and road traffic. A facility’s straight-line distance from the airport does not tell you how long the door-to-terminal journey will take.
Plan the departure sequence backwards
Start with the check-in time advised by the airline. Work backwards for terminal entry, the parking shuttle, its possible wait and vehicle handover. Keep documents and essentials with you, and make sure every bag intended for the flight is transferred from the car before it is stored.
For example, a family with a morning flight may need longer to unload child equipment than a solo traveller with one case. Ask whether the shuttle has adequate luggage space and an agreed arrangement for children or anyone who needs assistance. Do not assume an extra seat means extra space for large cases.
Returning to the car after landing
Agree when to call: after landing, after collecting baggage or after reaching the designated meeting point. Ask how the driver identifies you and what vehicle details will be shared. Keep the parking receipt and operator contact available, including if your phone battery is low or your roaming connection is unreliable.
Confirm whether late arrival changes the transfer fee or parking charge and whether someone will be present to release the vehicle. A car park offering overnight storage does not necessarily run an overnight shuttle. If another person will collect your car, arrange their authorisation in advance.
Airport drop-off and parking for a short visit
If you are dropping someone off and then leaving, check the permitted unloading location and applicable charges. If you intend to accompany the traveller inside, choose proper parking and budget for the time. Do not leave a vehicle in a drop-off lane while arranging check-in or searching for a meeting point.

Compare cost, security and convenience together
