For Uganda Airlines cargo booking, ask the airline or its authorised cargo representative to confirm the process for your origin and shipment. Send a complete load brief and request freight-specific acceptance. A passenger seat, excess-baggage purchase or route listing does not establish an unaccompanied cargo booking.

The airline’s public cargo page currently displays a coming-soon message rather than a complete booking policy or tariff. That limited page should not be interpreted as proof that no cargo can be carried. Use the official contact route to obtain the responsible cargo office or representative and current instructions.

Identify the right company and booking channel

Uganda Airlines and Uganda Air Cargo Corporation are different names and should not be treated as interchangeable booking channels. If an intermediary proposes a shipment, confirm the operating carrier, authorised agent and actual routing on the quotation and booking documents.

A BidAir Cargo Uganda Airlines schedule document provides a historical example of a cargo agent channel. It is dated and should not be used as a current timetable or availability guarantee. Confirm today’s responsible agent and accepted departure directly.

Prepare a complete shipment brief

  • Origin and destination, shipping date and delivery deadline.
  • Contents, package count, gross weights and dimensions.
  • Any batteries, liquids, chemicals, perishables or fragile items.
  • Sender, receiver and destination collection contacts.
  • Required airport handling, customs assistance or road delivery.

What to confirm before booking

Ask whether the goods can be accepted at both origin and destination, whether the booking must be made by a forwarder and which product applies. For an urgent parcel, provide the latest useful arrival time. For industrial equipment or a charter enquiry, request a separate aircraft and loading assessment.

Describe batteries, liquids, food, medicines or fragile contents at the outset. Request the current piece limits and packing instructions. Passenger baggage rules should not be applied as cargo limits without the freight team’s express instructions.

Uganda Airlines cargo rates

Request a current written quotation for the final package dimensions, weight and contents. Check chargeable weight, minimum charges and included screening, documentation and terminal handling. Ask whether the endpoint is a cargo facility or a delivery address.

For international goods, agree the exporter, importer and party arranging customs clearance. Identify destination charges, storage terms and any road delivery cost. Compare the complete scope across providers and confirm quote validity and payment instructions before paying for origin collection.

Airport handover and shipment updates

Obtain the receiving facility, opening hours and cutoff before sending goods to an airport. Keep the accepted booking reference and packing list available. Ask which transport document will be issued and who can provide movement updates.

For a connecting route, establish whether every leg is confirmed and who handles transfer. Ask how a delayed departure or part-shipment will be communicated. Notify the cargo team if any load details change after the initial quote.

Collection and onward delivery

Give the receiver the release contact and required identification or authorisation. Confirm whether clearance or outstanding charges must be settled before collection. Arrange the onward vehicle around cargo release rather than aircraft landing time.

Uganda Airlines cargo questions

Does the coming-soon page settle availability?

No. Ask the airline’s responsible cargo team about the actual shipment and route.

Can an old agent schedule confirm today’s departure?

No. Obtain current availability and acceptance.

Can I reserve cargo through a passenger booking?

Request the freight-specific process instead.

Turn your enquiry into a workable shipping plan

For a business sending stock from Entebbe or receiving goods in Nigeria, start by fixing the practical endpoint. Decide whether the receiver will collect at an airport or needs delivery to a warehouse. Ask the cargo contact to assess all pieces and confirm the route before you pay for packing or airport transfer. If an agent handles the enquiry, establish who issues the accepted booking and communicates changes. This gives you a clearer decision than comparing passenger schedules or an old cargo document.

Compare the complete quotation

Ask for the total payable for the same shipment and delivery endpoint. A lower flight charge can leave screening, storage, handling and road transport to be paid separately. Check the quotation’s expiry date, payment currency and what happens if the flight changes. Identify who will notify the receiver when the cargo is ready and who pays for a delay in collection. Keep written acceptance with the booking reference before releasing the goods.

Our BidAir Cargo booking guide explains cargo agent and airport collection questions, while the RwandAir cargo guide covers another separately assessed freight option.

How Travo can assist

For a consignment travelling into or out of Nigeria, Travo’s international shipping service offers freight coordination, supplier collection and consolidation, customs support through licensed clearing partners and onward delivery. If imported stock needs holding before distribution, ask about warehouse storage and fulfilment. Request the scope for your actual origin and destination, including any overseas partner arrangements and local delivery charges.

Request a shipment plan from Travo with your collection and delivery addresses, goods description, dimensions, weight and deadline. Ask which services are included, which need separate approval and what the delivery estimate depends on. This lets you coordinate the ground journey with the airline’s confirmed acceptance.
