Air Côte d’Ivoire cargo offers two useful starting points: the airline’s general freight service and Ivoire Fret Express for eligible small urgent parcels. Choose the service based on what you are sending, rather than assuming every package can use the express option.

The official cargo page lists general cargo, human remains and live animals as freight categories. The Ivoire Fret Express page describes small-parcel transport and separate acceptance conditions. Special categories always need individual approval and the relevant documentation.

When Ivoire Fret Express may suit your shipment

The express offer is aimed at eligible small urgent items such as documents or commercial samples. Its published conditions include exclusions for dangerous goods, valuables and certain medical samples, among other items. Read the current list and describe the contents fully when enquiring; a small package is not automatically acceptable.

The published process directs senders to the airline’s freight office or relevant airport agency ahead of departure and requires prompt destination collection. Confirm the current handover deadline, maximum package size and weight, accepted routing and collection timing with the office before travelling there.

How to arrange Air Côte d’Ivoire cargo booking

Use the official freight contact page or the airline’s airport freight agency. Explain whether you want general air freight or Ivoire Fret Express, and ask which process applies. State the departure city, arrival city, intended date and urgency. A connecting shipment may need a different quote and collection plan from a nonstop movement.

  • Describe the contents precisely.
  • Provide the number of packages, gross weight and dimensions.
  • Identify batteries, liquids or other special handling needs.
  • Give sender and receiver contacts.
  • Explain who will deliver to the airport and collect at destination.

Confirm the price and what it covers

Ivoire Fret Express publishes a tariff tied to eligibility and routing. Verify the current applicable amount with the airline; do not extend a small-parcel tariff to a heavier general-cargo shipment. For general freight, request a shipment-specific quotation including the chargeable-weight basis and any minimum charge.

Ask about terminal handling, security checks, storage and any destination payments. For international commercial goods, agree who provides the invoice and packing list and who arranges customs clearance. An airline transport price does not by itself establish that duties, taxes or road delivery are included.

Avoid collection problems

Send the receiver the shipment reference and confirmed collection instructions. Ask what identification, authorisation and payment evidence are required. If the receiver cannot collect when the shipment becomes available, settle the storage or return arrangements before shipping.

For live animals or human remains, work directly with the airline and the appropriate specialist service. These movements require a dedicated acceptance process and must not be treated as routine express parcels.

Air Côte d’Ivoire air freight questions

Can I send a parcel without travelling?

The published express offer is intended for parcel transport; confirm that your goods and routing qualify.

Can I use an express tariff for a pallet?

No. Request a general-cargo quotation and aircraft suitability assessment.

Does the service include delivery to the recipient’s address?

Confirm the endpoint. The published express procedure involves airport collection, so arrange any onward delivery separately.

Turn your enquiry into a workable shipping plan

For a small express parcel, confirm that the contents qualify for the relevant product before comparing its price with ordinary cargo. A parcel that contains excluded or specially handled goods may need a different booking assessment. Ask whether the quoted movement is direct or connecting and confirm the handover and collection windows at both stations. Give the receiver the booking details before dispatch. If the receiver cannot collect promptly, ask about storage arrangements rather than assuming the express product includes delivery to their address.

Compare the complete quotation

Ask for the total payable for the same shipment and delivery endpoint. A lower flight charge can leave screening, storage, handling and road transport to be paid separately. Check the quotation’s expiry date, payment currency and what happens if the flight changes. Identify who will notify the receiver when the cargo is ready and who pays for a delay in collection. Keep written acceptance with the booking reference before releasing the goods.

How Travo can assist

For a consignment travelling into or out of Nigeria, Travo’s international shipping service offers freight coordination, supplier collection and consolidation, customs support through licensed clearing partners and onward delivery. If imported stock needs holding before distribution, ask about warehouse storage and fulfilment. Request the scope for your actual origin and destination, including any overseas partner arrangements and local delivery charges.

Request a shipment plan from Travo with your collection and delivery addresses, goods description, dimensions, weight and deadline. Ask which services are included, which need separate approval and what the delivery estimate depends on. This lets you coordinate the ground journey with the airline’s confirmed acceptance.
