NYSC posting refers to the deployment of prospective corps members to states across Nigeria for their national service. After mobilisation and registration, NYSC determines the state where an eligible prospective corps member will serve.

NYSC’s Deployment and Relocation Division is responsible for posting prospective corps members to states of the federation, including the FCT, while also working towards an equitable distribution of corps members. (NYSC)

How NYSC Posting Works

The posting process generally follows these stages:

  1. Your institution submits its approved graduate list to NYSC.
  2. You complete NYSC online registration when your batch’s registration window opens.
  3. NYSC processes your mobilisation and deployment.
  4. Your state of deployment is assigned.
  5. Your call-up letter provides your deployment and orientation camp information.
  6. You report to the designated orientation camp on the required date.

NYSC’s mobilisation timetable determines when deployment and call-up information becomes available for each batch and stream. (NYSC)

Can You Choose Your NYSC State?

NYSC posting is not simply a matter of choosing any state you want. However, NYSC provides for concessional posting in certain circumstances.

For example, married female prospective corps members may request posting to their husband’s state of domicile by providing the required documentation during registration. NYSC also provides provisions relating to health grounds. (NYSC)

How to Check Your NYSC Posting

Once deployment information is released, prospective corps members should log into their NYSC account and check their mobilisation or deployment information.

Your posting information can indicate your:

  • State of deployment
  • Call-up details
  • Orientation camp
  • Reporting date
  • Other instructions for your mobilisation

For the 2026 Batch A Stream II exercise, NYSC scheduled notification and printing of call-up letters for 19–21 April 2026. Dates vary by batch, so prospective corps members should follow the timetable for their own mobilisation exercise. (NYSC)

NYSC Posting and Travel

After receiving your posting, transportation becomes an important part of preparing for camp. Some prospective corps members may need to travel several hours or even across multiple states before reaching their orientation camp.

Travo.ng can help with intercity transportation and travel planning for prospective corps members travelling to their assigned states. Booking your journey early can also make it easier to plan around your camp reporting date and luggage requirements.

Always check your NYSC dashboard and official mobilisation information before travelling, as deployment dates and instructions can change.
