Heathrow Baggage Courier · Lagos & Accra

Too many bags? Fly light. We'll bring them.

The airline wants £100+ per extra suitcase — and your arms back. Instead: drop your bags with us at Heathrow (or we collect in London), and they're couriered door-to-door to Lagos or Accra in days, X-ray screened and tracked.

How courier pricing works

Three rules that decide your price

Air couriers price the space your bags occupy on the aircraft — not just the scale reading. Know the rules and pack to win.

📐

Volumetric weight

Chargeable weight is the greater of actual weight or L × W × H (cm) ÷ 5,000. A big fluffy bag of clothes can "weigh" three times its scale reading — the calculator above shows both so nothing surprises you.

⚖️

32kg per piece, max

Manual-handling law: no single piece over 32kg. Heavier? Split it across two pieces — the calculator flags any piece that's over.

📏

120cm oversize line

Any side longer than 120cm attracts an oversize surcharge (bikes, big art, long cases). Often cheaper to repack into two smaller cartons — free cartons help here.

💡 Worked example — the one that surprises everyone: two ordinary suitcases, 25kg on the scale, measured out to 74kg volumetric — so 74kg is the chargeable weight, and the door-to-door price to Lagos lands around £290. Squeezing air out (compression cubes, tight packing, smaller boxes) directly cuts your bill.

How it works

From check-in queue to their front door

1

Quote & book

Use the calculator, send the WhatsApp booking, get written confirmation of price and handover.

2

Hand over at LHR

Drop bags at the Heathrow desk (T2–T5) — or we collect from your London address before you fly.

3

Screen & secure

Every piece is X-ray screened for courier compliance, weighed, measured and sealed — free cartons if you need to repack.

4

It flies

Air courier LHR → Lagos or Accra: 1–2 business days in the air, tracked throughout.

5

Door delivery

Customs cleared and delivered to the door — allow 2–4 business days end-to-end, with delivery confirmation to you.

Everyday items that cannot fly by courier

Courier rules are tougher than checked-luggage rules: things you'd happily check in at the airport are classified dangerous goods on cargo aircraft under IATA/ICAO regulations. Every shipment is X-ray screened — non-compliant items get your shipment refused or penalised, so remove these before handover:

🔥 Flammable liquids

  • Perfumes & aftershaves
  • Nail polish & remover
  • Hair dye
  • Gels, incl. shaving gel
  • Household cleaning products
  • Oils & oil-based liquids
  • Cigarette lighters

💨 Aerosols & gas

  • Aerosols of any kind
  • Deodorant & body sprays
  • Air fresheners
  • Any compressed gas canister

🔋 Batteries & ink

  • Loose batteries — prohibited
  • Power banks travelling loose
  • Spare phone/laptop batteries
  • Printer toner cartridges & ink

Batteries — the one everyone gets wrong: batteries may ONLY travel installed inside their equipment (a phone with its battery in is fine; the same battery loose in a side pocket is prohibited). If in doubt about any item, ask us on WhatsApp before handover — a two-minute question beats a refused shipment and penalty charges. By booking you confirm your shipment contains no prohibited or dangerous items.

Pack to survive the network

Courier networks are machines. Pack like it.

Your bags will ride conveyor belts and automated sorters alongside heavier parcels — assume a 1-metre drop and boxes stacked on top. Under-filled boxes collapse; overloaded ones burst. Ten minutes of proper packing is the cheapest insurance there is:

  • Double-box anything fragile — original retail packaging alone isn't enough; put it inside a double-walled carton at least 8cm larger, cushioned on all six sides
  • Fill every void — the item shouldn't move when you shake the box; seal with 48–50mm reinforced tape
  • "This way up" doesn't exist — sorters can't honour orientation labels, so pack for any orientation
  • Artwork & frames need wooden crates — masking-tape criss-cross on glass; protection cover is only valid if crated or professionally packed by us
  • Non-hazardous liquids go in leak-proof liners with absorbent material, inside a rigid box (and check the prohibited list first)
  • Never reuse old hazmat boxes — any hazard label or old barcode gets the shipment treated as dangerous goods; strip labels, cross out barcodes
  • Label placement matters — never across the box closure; customs may open it and your label must survive

Baggage questions

Is this cheaper than airline excess baggage?
Usually, decisively — airlines charge per bag (often £65–£150 each way) regardless of how empty it is, while we charge per kg of chargeable weight from £3.92, door-to-door including delivery in Lagos or Accra. And you walk through the airport with your hands free. For one small extra bag the airline can win; from two bags or anything heavy, the courier maths takes over — the calculator settles it in ten seconds.
Why is my "weight" higher than my bathroom scale says?
Volumetric weight: L × W × H (cm) ÷ 5,000, charged when it exceeds actual weight — because your bag occupies aircraft space. Two suitcases at 25kg actual measured out to 74kg volumetric in our worked example. Compression cubes and right-sized cartons are your friends.
Can I send my duvet, food items, or electronics?
Clothes, bedding and household textiles: yes — ideal courier cargo. Sealed dry foodstuffs: generally fine (no liquids/oils — check the prohibited list). Electronics: yes, with batteries installed in the device, never loose, and double-boxed. Perfume, aerosols, toner: no — courier rules are stricter than your checked luggage.
What if my bag is over 32kg?
It can't travel as one piece — 32kg is a hard manual-handling limit. Split it into two pieces (free cartons make this painless); the calculator flags any overweight piece before you book.
Can family in Nigeria or Ghana receive it for me?
Yes — set any delivery address and recipient in Lagos or Accra at booking; they'll get delivery confirmation and so will you. Shipping to other Nigerian cities? We connect it onward through the Travo network — ask at booking. Living abroad and shipping regularly? The UK shopping address and diaspora services were built for you.
When do I pay, and what if my measurements were off?
Your calculator quote is confirmed in writing on WhatsApp; final chargeable weight is verified when we weigh and measure at handover, shown to you before payment — no invisible re-weighs after the fact. Pay in pounds to corporate accounts only, receipt every time.

Check in yourself. We'll check in the rest.

Quote your bags in ten seconds, hand them over at Heathrow, and greet them at the door in Lagos or Accra days later.
